Role Overview An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Bookkeeper / Management Accountant to join a growing accountancy practice in Teesside. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with a varied client portfolio and delivering accurate, timely financial information. You will support a range of clients with bookkeeping, VAT compliance and management reporting, while working as part of a collaborative and professional team.
Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records for a portfolio of clients. Processing sales and purchase invoices, bank reconciliations and journals. Preparing and submitting VAT returns in line with Making Tax Digital requirements. Preparing management accounts and periodic financial reports. Posting period-end adjustments, including accruals, prepayments and depreciation. Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and provide financial information. Supporting wider accounting operations and client requirements.
Ensuring all work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines. About You The successful candidate will have:
Previous experience in bookkeeping, ideally within an accountancy practice or professional services environment. AAT qualified, part-qualified ACCA/CIMA, or qualified by experience. Strong knowledge of VAT and Making Tax Digital requirements. Experience preparing management accounts and financial reporting. Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, Quick Books or Sage. Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail. The ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise effectively.
