Workshop Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technician / Workshop Controller to join a well-established automotive business in Daventry. This position offers a competitive basic salary of up to £45,000, with salary flexibility for an exceptionally experienced Senior Technician / Workshop Controller. The role is Monday to Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm, with no weekend work. It provides a balanced combination of hands-on technical duties and workshop leadership, ideal for an Senior Technician / Workshop Controller seeking to develop their managerial skills while remaining actively involved in vehicle repairs.

Performing servicing, diagnostics, and complex mechanical repairs, including clutches, cambelts, and timing belts Overseeing and supporting a team of 2 Vehicle Technicians and an MOT Tester Allocating and prioritising workshop jobs efficiently Ensuring all vehicles are repaired safely, efficiently, and to a high standard Conducting quality checks and offering technical guidance to team members Assisting with workshop organisation and ensuring productivity Liaising with the Service Advisor regarding workload and job progress Engaging with customers as required and maintaining excellent customer service standards Leading by example to uphold technical and operational standards within the workshop Requirements:
Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification (not essential if the Senior Technician / Workshop Controller demonstrates extensive experience) Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician or Workshop Controller Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills Demonstrable leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team Excellent organisational and prioritisation abilities Good communication skills Full UK driving licence Senior Technician / Workshop Controllers with a strong track record of delivering high-quality workmanship are encouraged to apply, even if formal qualifications are not held.
