Daventry, UK. The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at Amazon maintains equipment and work spaces, upholding Health and Safety practices.

As an RME Technician, you’ll maintain a wide range of equipment and work spaces while upholding Health and Safety best practices. You’ll help keep colleagues safe and prevent machine downtime. Our RME Technicians boost the availability and quality of our equipment and work to enhance the operational environment.

Responsibilities
  • Proactive and preventative maintenance tasks on a wide range of site equipment
  • Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse
  • Use the latest tools to maximise equipment effectiveness
  • Uphold all health and safety policies and practices
  • Support the development and progression of on-site apprentices
  • Work on continuous improvement projects and roll out best practices across a range of EU sites
A day in the life

RME Technicians are based on-site, so they can respond quickly to machinery issues. You’ll carry out planned preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure safe operation. You’ll respond to breakdowns, investigate, implement solutions quickly, and suggest long-term improvements. You’ll work with senior colleagues, liaise with contractors when external expertise is needed, and support site coverage across various shifts.

About The Team

Our RME team keeps equipment performing at its best. We are technically minded, team focused, and guided by experienced leaders. We maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment across Amazon’s global network of fulfilment centres, with opportunities for progression within RME and across Amazon. We also help ensure buildings are legally compliant and sites operate at maximum efficiency. We focus on reducing downtime so customers get orders on time.

We may work early or late hours, including night shifts, to minimise disruption. We may implement new processes or cutting-edge tech like Amazon Robotics and the Complex Item Sorter.

Basic Qualifications
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • NVQ Level 3 / SVQ Level 3 / IVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds Level 3 / EAL Level 3 in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics
  • 4 years UK certified apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics, or completed a 4-year UK certified apprenticeship
  • SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics, or completed a 4-year UK certified apprenticeship
  • Flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
  • Served a full Engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject
  • Relevant experience as a qualified engineer and in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance
  • Advanced proficiency in the local language verbally and in writing
  • Proof of qualifications as part of Amazon’s Terms of Employment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate s degree in Mechanical or Electrical
  • Experience with material handling equipment (MHE) safety standards in accordance with OEM and safety standards
  • Experience with robotic operation and maintenance
  • Experience in condition-based monitoring
  • Experience working with print and apply machines
