Trane Technologies is hiring a Category Manager-Refrigerants & Oil in Davidson, NC
. This critical role for our Procurement team owns the space, strategy, supply base, and performance of the Refrigerants & Oil Category, staying current on market trends and conditions as SME for the category.

This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with onsite work 3 days each week in Davidson, NC
.
- Collaboration:
Identify, engage and align with internal stakeholders (engineering, operations, quality or other business partners) to capture category requirements and ensure supplier qualification and quality. - Partner with business unit Procurement teams to transition suppliers as needed; support region/sector New Product Development (NPD) Procurement teams through preferred supplier programs.
- Strategy:
Develop and execute detailed category strategy, expand the Preferred Supplier Program and segmentation based on business needs and procurement principles. - Negotiations:
Manage contract lifecycle and compliance, ensure supply continuity and deliver best total value through RFx activities for supplier selection and negotiation. - Risk Management:
Monitor and mitigate supplier risk including financial, capacity, quality and compliance. - Cost Management:
Deliver category productivity through price, value analysis (VA) or continuous improvement projects. - Supplier Management:
Oversee Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and regular supplier reviews for all strategic suppliers within the category to meet Quality/Cost/Delivery targets.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of procurement/sourcing experience with large-scale, complex and/or regional/global categories of spend
- Demonstrated success in assessing, negotiating and managing vendors
- Collaborative, facilitation, consultation and conflict resolution skills; ability to collaborate and influence in a highly matrixed environment
- Professional communication: verbal and written
Base Pay Range: $72,000- $125,000. Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan.
