Base pay range$70,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr
Our client in North Charlotte is seeking a candidate with 2+ years of experience to join their team on a direct hire basis. This role is a blend of tax management, internal auditing, and core accounting. You will ensure operations remain fully compliant with international reporting standards and local statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities Tax & Statutory Management- Filings: Execute the end-to-end preparation and filing of corporate tax returns and sales tax submissions.
- Strategy: Monitor legislative changes to ensure the business remains compliant while optimizing tax positions.
- Dispute Resolution: Act as the primary point of contact for tax authorities during audits or inquiries.
- Record Keeping: Maintain a comprehensive library of tax certificates, filings, and supporting work papers.
- Process Coordination: Lead the preparation for both internal and external audits by gathering evidence and preparing schedules.
- Risk Mitigation: Evaluate internal control systems and propose enhancements to prevent financial or operational discrepancies.
- Remediation: Track audit findings and work with department heads to implement corrective actions.
- Standards Adherence: Ensure all financial reporting aligns with recognized accounting frameworks (GAAP/IFRS).
- Global Coordination: Manage the renewal of insurance policies and secure necessary bonds for client contracts through local and global agencies.
- Accounting Cycles: Own specific month-end and year-end close tasks, including complex account reconciliations and cost variance analysis.
- System Improvements: Contribute to the optimization of financial software and data analysis workflows.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred).
- Experience: 2–3 years in a tax or audit-heavy role (public accounting or mid-to-large scale industry experience).
