Athletic Maintenance Supervisor

JOB DESCRIPTION

In conjunction with the Associate Director of Athletics oversee the coordination and implementation of activities within the Davidson College Sports Complex, including building maintenance, custodial services, venue preparation, security and related staff services for the athletic facilities of the College.

• Oversee the planning, scheduling and coordinating of Athletic Custodians
• Supervise the training of new employees
• Monitor work performance of assigned personnel and sign off on work hours.
• Plan, schedule and coordinate project work, including moving, facility set ups, special cleaning needs and special events arrangements.
• Oversee and make sure the needs of the athletic staff and student athletes are met relative to daily cleaning and upkeep of designated areas.
• Oversee athletic marking and minor maintenance to all athletic fields.
• Perform sporting events set up as needed, including all athletic fields, indoor facilities and related areas.
• Assure that minor repairs or replacements of worn or damaged materials related to all athletic facilities is maintained.
• Oversee the general maintenance of athletic equipment and venues.
• Oversee the purchase of supplies and equipment necessary to maintain all athletic facilities.
• Make decisions and judgements on purchases necessary to maintain facilities and develop relationships with vendors.
• Oversee the stocking and inventory of both supplies and equipment.
• In conjunction with the Associate AD, perform the annual evaluation process on all athletic maintenance workers.
• Provide input to Associate AD on staff discipline and rewards.
• Make sure all paperwork is complete and returned to HR.
• Maintain consistent communication with Athletic department members, Physical Plant and other departments as necessary to upkeep all facilities and prepare setups.
• Receive information from department members relating to maintenance needs and input all work orders into the Physical Plant software system.

• Three years related experience
• Custodial and supervisory experience preferred.
• High School Diploma
