Primary PurposePlays a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing compensation programs that support the institution’s strategic goals and ensure equity, compliance, and competitiveness. Partners with HR leadership, academic and administrative units, and external consultants to deliver data-driven compensation solutions tailored to the unique needs of higher education.

- Knowledge: Deep understanding of compensation principles, including job evaluation, market pricing, pay structures, and incentive plans.
- Familiarity with academic compensation models and faculty pay structures.
- Knowledge of FLSA and other relevant federal/state laws and regulations.
- Understanding of HRIS platforms, compensation modules, and data analytics tools.
- Awareness of budgetary constraints and financial planning in a nonprofit or educational setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of workforce planning principles, including forecasting staffing needs, analyzing labor market trends, and aligning talent strategies with organizational goals.
- Knowledge of total rewards strategies, including employee recognition programs, incentive structures, and their impact on engagement, retention, and organizational culture.
- Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain complex compensation concepts to diverse audiences.
- Skilled in managing multiple projects, timelines, and stakeholders effectively.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with compensation software and survey tools.
- Abilities: Ability to build relationships and influence decisions across academic and administrative units.
- Ability to interpret compensation data, conduct market analyses, and develop data-driven recommendations.
- Ability to align compensation strategies with institutional goals and workforce planning.
- Capacity to address compensation challenges creatively and within policy constraints.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and professionalism.
- Near Vision - Must be able to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
- Speech Recognition - Must be able to identify and understand the speech of another person.
- Speech Clarity - Must be able to speak clearly so others can understand you.
- Travel - Must be able to travel on a daily and/or overnight basis.
- May be required to work nights or weekends.
- May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.
