Position descriptionThe Department of Sociology at the University of California, Davis, offers temporary Lecturer positions to teach undergraduate courses during the academic year. These positions are dependent upon the instructional needs of the department and may be full- or part-time.
Appointment dates: Assignments vary according to type of course and percentage of appointment. Service periods are:
Fall Quarter 2025:
September 22 - December 12
Winter Quarter 2026:
January 2 - March 20
Spring Quarter 2026:
March 30 - June 11
Qualifications: Demonstrated experience in teaching at the college level, and advanced degree in Sociology or related discipline is required.
Salary: This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement (Unit 18). The annual salary rate for this position is $70,977.00, and is commensurate with percentage of appointment.

QualificationsBasic qualifications: Demonstrated experience in teaching at the college level, and advanced degree in Sociology or related discipline is required.
Additional qualifications: Must have demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching Sociology courses.
