Sutter Medical Group (SMG) seeks to hire a Supplemental Certified Nurse-Midwife to join our dynamic team in Davis, CA.

• This position is supplemental - non-benefited.

Sutter Women's Health in Davis is seeking a certified nurse midwife to join us in an award-winning and nationally recognized collaborative practice working in the office and community hospital setting. Sutter Davis Hospital has a Level 1 nursery and offers a full spectrum of labor and delivery options, including low-intervention birth, TOLAC/VBAC, hydrotherapy/water birth, nitrous oxide, anesthesia, and a volunteer doula service.

The hospital is expanding, and we are excited to grow our practice to meet our community's needs. This full-scope position includes obstetrics, family planning, simple gynecology, and group prenatal care. Additional highly desirable skills: maternal mental health, first and third-trimester limited OB ultrasound, cesarean first assist, leadership, support of physiologic labor and birth, and experience with LARC family planning methods.

Position Overview:

• Supplemental role to support the need in birthing centers.
• No clinic
• 12- or 24-hour hospital shifts or shorter 6 hour rounding shifts
• Post-partum rounds, triage, managing laboring patients, telephone calls, possibility to be pulled into hospital birth.

Rounding shifts will be to cover thefollowing:

• Postpartum rounds of patients who had a vaginal birth by a CNM, but with opportunity to cover physician VAVD and VBAC as able, and to negotiate coverage of rounds for higher acuity physician PP patients (cesarean sections, etc.) with appropriate training in advance (more discussion between the CNM and physician call group is needed on this before we move forward, per our last Collaborative Practice Meeting)
• Phone triage and in-house triage if needed.
• C/S first assist

• Two years of experience as a certified nurse-midwife is required.
