SEND Teaching Assistant – Dawlish, Devon
Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities? Teaching Personnel is recruiting caring and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to work in a range of supportive schools across Dawlishand the surrounding areas.

Role: SEND Teaching Assistant
Pay Rate: £95–£105 per day
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45am–3:45pm
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, adapting learning to individual needs
- Assist in delivering EHCPs, IEPs, and behaviour support plans
- Promote inclusion, independence, and positive social interaction
- Support emotional wellbeing, communication, and behaviour regulation
- Work closely with teachers, the SENCo, and wider support staff
- Previous SEND experience (desirable but not essential)
- Transferable experience (e.g. care work, youth work, psychology, family SEND experience)
- A patient, resilient, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A genuine desire to learn and develop within education
