Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people with additional needs? We're looking for a caring, enthusiastic and adaptable SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and well-established special educational needs school in Dawlish.

The school supports children and young people aged 2–19 with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. It's a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive team where no two days are the same and where helping students learn, grow and develop is at the heart of everything you do.

Why You'll Love Working Here
  • Beautiful outdoor spaces, including dedicated forest school areas.
  • Football and basketball courts offering opportunities for active learning and enrichment.
  • A friendly, collaborative staff team who work together to support their students.
  • A setting that values creativity, engagement and student wellbeing.
  • Opportunities to support learning both inside and outside the classroom.
The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support students across the school, working with children and young people aged 2–19.
  • Engage and motivate learners with a range of SEN and SEMH needs.
  • Help students access learning through activities tailored to their individual needs and abilities.
  • Encourage confidence, communication, independence and social development.
  • Support classroom learning, outdoor education and practical activities.
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
What We’re Looking For

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Patient, positive and adaptable.
  • Genuinely passionate about supporting children and young people with SEN and SEMH needs.
  • Enthusiastic about engaging students through creative, practical and active learning.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment where every student has different needs.
  • A strong team player with good communication skills.
  • Committed to helping every student reach their potential.

Previous experience in an SEN setting would be advantageous, but we're particularly keen to hear from people who have the right attitude, enthusiasm and commitment to supporting young people.
