We are seeking to recruit a Catering Assistant to provide essential services within the catering department based at Langdon Hospital, Dawlish (EX7 0NR
).
The role involves providing meals for wards from a central catering facility, ensuring healthy accredited meals for patients and maintaining a busy environment. It is a varied and challenging role that includes freezer work for picking and packing meals, food preparation, and cleaning tasks.
In return, we provide full training, regular supervision, and learning and development opportunities, along with a competitive salary that includes enhanced rates of pay for weekends and public holidays, and an excellent pension package.
The position operates on a straight shift pattern between 06:30 am and 15:30 pm. Full uniform and training will be provided. The role does not involve evening work.
No catering experience is required, as full training will be given.
You will need excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to make decisions that ensure the safe running of our services. You must be positive, hardworking, and committed to delivering a high standard of service with a passion for catering and an eye for detail.
The job involves long periods of standing, freezer work, food preparation, and cleaning tasks.
