Hours: 1 x 12.5 hours per week (after school hours), 41 weeks per year; 1 x 16 hours per week (time TBC) 41 weeks per year

Salary: £25208 FTE per annum, £13.07 per hour

The Opportunity

Orchard Manor School is looking to appoint a Cleaner to join our friendly and committed team. This is an important role in helping us maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our students, staff and visitors.

The successful candidate will provide a professional and reliable cleaning service across the school site, working as part of the cleaning team to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene at all times.

About the Role
  • undertaking a set daily cleaning programme across the school
  • cleaning classrooms, offices, meeting rooms, facilities and shared areas
  • preparing and cleaning rooms for meetings
  • carrying out periodic deep‑cleaning tasks, including carpets, floors, windows, light fittings, walls, blinds and upholstery
  • operating cleaning equipment and machinery safely and appropriately
  • ensuring cloakrooms and facilities are stocked with soap, towels and other supplies; maintaining adequate stocks of cleaning materials
  • undertaking emergency cleaning when required
  • reporting any defects, concerns or security issues to the Site Supervisor or Line Manager
  • acting as a joint key holder and supporting the security of the site, including alarm procedures
  • following all relevant rules, regulations and procedures, including Health and Safety and COSHH

Previous cleaning experience in a school or similar environment is desirable. Knowledge of Health and Safety and COSHH regulations would also be an advantage.
