The Maintenance Supervisor – Fabrication serves as the technical backbone of Gradian’s Dayton plant fabrication department, ensuring fiber lasers, press brakes, copper fabrication equipment, pipe processing tools, brazing stations, and electrical panel assembly lines run safely, reliably, and at full capacity. As a working supervisor, you will personally diagnose and resolve complex equipment failures, provide direct technical leadership to a team of electricians and maintenance technicians, and build the planned maintenance discipline that reduces how often equipment fails in the first place.

You will be the department’s go‑to technical resource — on the floor solving problems as often as you’re planning the week’s work. This position will report to Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

• Provide hands‑on technical leadership to a team of electricians and maintenance technicians, prioritizing daily work based on maintenance work orders for production impact and urgency
• Serve as the primary technical resource for complex equipment failures, personally diagnosing and resolving issues on fiber lasers, press brakes, copper benders, copper saw, T-drill, water pipe cutter/groover, brazing equipment, and electrical panel assembly lines to restore production quickly
• Partner with Continuous Improvement Manager and develop, implement, and continuously mature a planned/preventive maintenance program, shifting the department’s workload from reactive firefighting toward proactive reliability
• Manage spare parts inventory for critical equipment, ensuring long‑lead‑time components (laser optics, press brake parts) are on hand to prevent extended downtime
• Coordinate with OEM service technicians and outside vendors for specialized equipment service, calibration, and repairs beyond the team’s in‑house capability
• Enforce compliance with applicable electrical codes (NEC, NFPA 70E) and lockout‑tagout procedures across all maintenance and electrical work
