Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor with Tenure
Join the University of Dayton School of Law as a tenure‑track faculty member in Constitutional Law, beginning August 16, 2026. The position is open to appointment at the ranks of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor with tenure, depending on qualifications and experience.
Position SummaryThe successful candidate will teach Constitutional Law, develop scholarship, and serve the university and the legal profession. Determination of tenurability and rank will be evaluated based on teaching, research, and service record.
Minimum Qualifications- J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school.
- For Assistant Professor:
Potential to publish scholarly works and interest in teaching Constitutional Law. - For Associate Professor:
At least four years of successful teaching in Constitutional Law and a record of service and scholarship that shows progression toward tenure as a Full Professor. - For Full Professor:
At least six years of teaching experience in Constitutional Law, a strong record of scholarship, and significant service.
- Outstanding academic record.
- Original scholarship in Constitutional Law.
- Potential to be an outstanding teacher.
- Experience mentoring students from underrepresented groups and working with diverse communities.
- Experience in the legal profession, preferably in Constitutional Law.
- Effective communication skills and commitment to the whole‑person education of the Marianist tradition.
- Cover letter addressing how minimum and preferred qualifications are met.
