Location: Dayton, OH.
Emerson Academy of Dayton has served 675+ K-8 students since 2005. The school is known for high academic standards, strong support for staff, and a safe learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assess student abilities and provide instructional and behavioral assistance in accordance with IEP and 504‑behavior plans.
- Support students 1:1 or in small groups.
- Help implement curriculum and instruction tailored to individual student needs.
- Attend professional development, specialized trainings, and IEP meetings with the special education team and parents.
- Assist with compliance documentation.
Qualifications:
- Must meet state requirements for Title I paraprofessional (see state requirements link).
- Ability to defuse situations and prevent escalation.
- Previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities and/or behavioral modifications (preferred).
- Aptitude to understand and navigate technical systems.
Starting pay above market scales. Benefits include experienced leadership, high support for staff, safety, and a behavioral support program.
