The University of Dayton Libraries are looking for a Business Librarian to join our team of colleagues.
This is a 12-month, full-time, 35 hours per week, tenure track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor with an anticipated start date of January 1, 2027. Reporting to the Director of Teaching, Research, and Engagement, the Business Librarian provides research support, curriculum-integrated instruction, and collection development for the School of Business Administration and its associated centers, while advancing information literacy across the curriculum and supporting strategic library initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a liaison to the School of Business Administration (SBA) including research support, instruction, and collection development.
- Design, conduct, and assess curriculum-integrated, scaffolded instruction in the liaison areas both in person and online, in consultation with SBA faculty and staff, for undergraduate and graduate business students.
- Provide in-depth research consultations regarding specialized business resources, including investment and financial data, company and industry information, market research, and economic indicators.
- Provide research consultation for the L. William Crotty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership, including collaborations as appropriate with the Hub, the Entrepreneurs’ Center, and/or the Greater West Dayton Incubator.

- Serve on the Instruction Team, including supporting the development and integration of information literacy through Common Academic Program (CAP) general education courses (e.g., HUM 102 seminar and second-year writing program).
- Oversee library collections for the Business and Social Sciences, respond to faculty and student requests for library materials, and collaborate with other library departments on collections-related issues.
- Serves on the Collections and Scholarly Communications team.
- Contribute to the implementation of the Libraries’ and University’s strategic initiatives, including for inclusive excellence.
- Conduct research and disseminate the findings through publication in peer-reviewed journals, major national meetings, and other venues.
