Job OverviewThe Engineering Manager will oversee the daily execution and strategic leadership of the Swiss Engineering department, providing seamless support for B3 Operations and Quality in a highly regulated environment.
Job Responsibilities- Actively assign and support incoming Setup Requests and Engineering Requests (ERs), ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Attend the daily 9:30 AM Operations meeting to ensure the engineering team is providing necessary support and alignment with production needs.
- Review, edit, and submit Daily Labor Edits, and review, approve, and submit purchase requests for the department.
- Directly support B3 Operations and B3 Quality by addressing daily challenges as they occur (e.g., scrap issues, customer complaints, and optimization efforts).
- Actively support the quoting process for new business opportunities.
- Execute annual hourly performance reviews and lead succession planning efforts for the Swiss Engineering staff.
- Provide effective training and mentoring for new engineering staff members to accelerate their integration and competence.
- Continuously explore new CAM software and ensure the department is utilizing the latest Swiss equipment and processes to maintain a competitive edge.
- Proven experience in Swiss machining, precision manufacturing, or a highly related field, preferably within the medical device or components industry.
- Demonstrated experience in a management or supervisory role leading an engineering or technical team.
- Strong technical background with the ability to troubleshoot complex machining, quality, and process challenges, focusing on zero‑defect quality standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective daily interaction with Operations and Quality leadership.
- Proficiency in reviewing, approving, and managing engineering documentation (ERs, setups, labor edits).
- Experience in CAM software evaluation and implementation.
- Familiarity with ISO 13485 or other quality management systems relevant to the medical device industry is preferred.
