Job Summary

The Proposal Engineer with Gosiger Automation Within Reach (AWR) is primarily responsible for the generation of detailed proposals, internal bills of materials, and purchase order commitments.

The proposal engineer engages with customers, distributors, and team members to determine the scope of work to provide detailed and accurate proposals. The proposals generated by the proposal engineer function as the contractual agreement between Gosiger AWR and the potential customer.

This document must incorporate mission critical information with thorough detail and must articulate the objectives of the project to the potential customer, distributor, and the internal Gosiger AWR team.

The proposal engineer will work within the Gosiger AWR sales process to engage, document, and refine our technical offering at each milestone in a proactive manner.

The proposal engineering incumbent must be able to collaborate with other team members, distributor personnel, and customers in a detailed, professional manner to achieve the best solution for the customer all while mitigating risk on Gosiger AWR’s behalf. This position is considered a Safety Sensitive position.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Deciphers technical documents, extracting pertinent project related information, and follows up to obtain any otherwise missing key data sets.
  • Leads project discovery calls, project kickoffs, and proposal presentations.
  • Delivers accurate and thorough proposals, bills of materials and purchase order commitments while achieving margin goals within project budget constraints.
  • Understanding of Gosiger Automation Within Reach standard product offerings.
  • Understands, vets, and anticipates the technical challenges of a project.
  • Mitigate risk by thoroughly developing technical solutions.
  • Attend internal/external project kickoffs and supplier conferences and meetings.
  • Executes engineering change orders in a timely manner.
  • Learns, utilizes, and contributes to the improvement of the Inside Sales tools.
  • Works collaboratively within a fast paced, highly technical team environment.
  • Based on business need, assists, supports and/or performs other duties within scope and ability. Assumes accountability and responsibility for assigned projects and programs.

  • Understand processing requirements.
  • Recommend technical offerings within budget constraints.
  • Operate within a Salesforce environment.
  • Meet established due dates and milestones.
  • Drive accurate proposals, bills of materials and purchase order commitments which eliminate ambiguity.
  • Drive margins to an established level.
  • Follow‑up on contact lists acquired from open houses and shows.
  • Follow‑up on current opportunities via phone, email, Teams meetings.
  • Establish clear and concise communication through meeting notes and action items for all parties involved.
  • Drive purposeful communication in a proactive manner.
  • Generate RFQ’s for outsourced equipment.
  • Obtain quotes for outsourced equipment.
  • Understand, vet, and plan for all technical aspects of a project.
  • Mitigate risk by thoroughly developing technical solutions.
  • Present technical solution throughout the sales process.
  • Attend internal/external project kickoff’s.
  • Attend supplier conferences and meetings.
  • After the sale, maintain communication with the project management team to ensure engineering change orders are executed in a timely manner.
  • Excellent planning and organization skills.
  • Sense of urgency, self‑motivated, and sensitivity to timeliness.
  • Must have a valid driver license, a clean driving record and ability to obtain and maintain a passport.
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% of time.
