Job Overview
Staff‑level CT technologist producing high‑quality diagnostic images on patients of all ages using the CT scanner and related equipment. Performs tasks with minimal supervision while strictly adhering to departmental quality parameters. Works independently or assists the licensed independent practitioner in completing radiographic procedures, prepares, administers, and documents contrast media activities according to state and federal regulations. Educates patients and parents on procedures and safety, collaborates with radiology staff and other departments to ensure smooth continuum of care, and provides positive learning experiences for student technologists.
Responsibilities
- Produce diagnostic images on patients of all ages using CT scanner and associated equipment.
- Perform scans with minimal supervision while maintaining strict quality standards.
- Assist licensed independent practitioner in radiographic procedures.
- Prepare, administer, and document contrast media and medication activities per regulations and institutional policy.
- Educate patients and parents regarding procedures and safety within the CT department.
- Maintain CPR certification, Ohio licensure, and ARRT registration; participate in hospital‑wide mandatory education.
- Advocate for individualized patient care and uphold patients’ right to make decisions about medical care.
- Coordinate with radiology staff and other departments to provide a smooth continuum of care.
- Mentor student technologists to ensure a positive learning experience during clinical rotations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent (HSD/GED required).
- Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology/Sciences required.
- Ohio Department of Health Radiologic License required.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography required; ARRT Advanced Registry in Computed Tomography preferred.
- CPR certification required.
Facility – Dayton Children's Hospital, Main Campus.
Department – General Radiology / CT.
Schedule – Part‑time, 8 hours per shift.
