Patient Care Tech / Health Unit Coordinator - Observation 6

Department: Observation Unit
Shift: 7:00 am-7:00 pm Part Time 12 hours a week, 24 hours per pay period
Facility: Miami Valley Hospital

Responsibilities:

• Check vital signs such as temperature, heartbeat, and breathing.
• Assist patients with movement, dressing, and eating.
• Collect samples such as blood or urine.
• Clean and change bandages.
• Report any changes in a patient’s condition to a nurse.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Training: BLS CPR certificate required; orientation training provided.
• Experience: No previous job experience required; preferred:
  • Completed STNA, CNA, or Patient Care Technician/Assistant training.
  • Past 5 years of direct patient care such as temperature checks or bathing.
  • Current nursing student finished one clinical rotation.
