Within our retail locations, the Pharmacy Technician plays a critical role in supporting our pharmacy teams to consistently deliver on our brand promise.
Responsibilities- Live our purpose by following all company SOPs at each workstation to help pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, and drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care—creating heartfelt and personalized moments while serving patients at pick‑up, drive‑thru, and via phone; offering immunizations and other services; and resolving patient problems with compassion.
- Complete basic inventory activities (e.g., putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, waiting‑bin inventories) as permitted by law and directed by pharmacy leadership.
- Contribute to a high‑performing team, embrace a growth mindset, and be receptive to feedback; seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge.
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, and volunteer traveling to stores in the market to work shifts as needed.
- Understand and comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles; ensure patient safety, controlled‑substance dispensing, record‑keeping, and privacy protection.
- Deliver additional patient health‑care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, and voluntary staffing off‑site clinics) when allowed by law and supported by required training.
- Complete additional licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status for vaccine preparation and administration.
- Educate patients about vaccines and refer questions to the pharmacist‑on‑duty.
- Monitor and respond to adverse reactions; report events per public‑health requirements.
- Review and collect patient information and document it appropriately.
- Monitor and manage vaccine supplies.
- Must comply with state board of pharmacy requirements, including age, education, and licensure/certification.
- If the state board does not specify an age requirement, must be at least 16 years old.
- If no minimum educational requirement, must have a high‑school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high‑school or equivalency program.
