Patient Care Technician PT

Kindred Hospital Dayton and Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) is a 97-bed hospital. With 51 long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) beds, we offer the same in-depth care you would receive in a traditional hospital, but for an extended recovery period. Our 46-bed behavioral health unit offers treatment for adults ages 18+, including dedicated services for geriatric patients. The unit offers 24-hour supervised psychiatric treatment and crisis support for mental health issues and like the LTACH, we partner with your physician and offer 24-hour clinical care seven days a week so you can start your journey to wellness.

We are located downtown Dayton near the I-75 and I-35 junction, to the west of the Great Miami River.

Performs patient observation, documents patient care and response to care and communicates significant information to the registered nurse and other appropriate team members.

• Assists patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide basic care to non-acutely ill patients.
• Assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment.
• Perform these duties under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provide direct patient care for patients on the Patient Care Unit.
• Services are determined by the patient’s plan of care and include personal care and activities under the direction of the Licensed Care Giver and in conjunction with the Respiratory and Rehab departments and the Laboratory.
• Functions as a member of the Patient Care Team in conjunction with the Licensed Direct Care Giver.

• Approximate percent of time required to travel:
• Must read, write and speak fluent English.
• Must have good and regular attendance.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• High school graduate or GED.
• Successful completion of a Patient Care Training program.

• State Certified Nursing Assistant licensure preferred.
• BLS certification required.

• Minimum 6 months experience.
