We are seeking a Corporate Enterprise Network (WAN) – Network Engineer (Senior) to provide advanced technical support and engineering expertise for the design, deployment, and sustainment of the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) enterprise network infrastructure under the Critical Cloud and Infrastructure Support (CCIS) program. The Network Engineer will be responsible for managing the architecture, performance, and security of LAN/WAN systems that support DLA’s global operations.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with enterprise‑scale network systems, including WAN and LAN integration, network security, cloud interconnectivity, and DoD compliance. This position requires a strong understanding of routing, switching, network automation, and monitoring technologies to maintain secure and reliable communications across hybrid and cloud‑connected infrastructures.

- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise‑level LAN/WAN architectures supporting DLA mission systems across multiple locations.
- Configure and administer network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN concentrators.
- Ensure optimal network performance through proactive monitoring, analysis, and tuning of WAN and LAN components.
- Integrate cloud connectivity solutions such as AWS Direct Connect, Azure Express Route, and Google Cloud Interconnect into enterprise networks.
- Implement and maintain network segmentation, access control lists (ACLs), and Zero Trust principles to ensure compliance with DoD security policies.
- Develop and maintain network diagrams, configurations, and documentation in accordance with DLA standards.
- Coordinate with system administrators, database engineers, and cybersecurity specialists to ensure end‑to‑end network integrity.
- Perform network troubleshooting and root cause analysis for connectivity, routing, and latency issues across hybrid environments.
- Support configuration management and automation using tools such as Cisco DNA Center, Ansible, or Python scripting.
- Assist in planning and executing network modernization, optimization, and cloud migration initiatives aligned with DLA enterprise goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Clearance: Must possess an active Secret clearance and be eligible for IT‑I (Tier 5/SSBI) / Critical Sensitive access. U.S. Citizenship required.
- Certifications:
- DoD 8570.01‑M IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., Security+, CASP+, or CISSP).
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification required.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification preferred.
- Additional certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), AWS Advanced Networking Specialty, or CompTIA Network+ are highly desirable.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Five (5) or more years of progressive experience in IT with direct involvement in enterprise network engineering and telecommunications.
- Minimum five (5) years of progressive IT experience, including enterprise‑level network engineering and telecommunications, with demonstrated experience managing large‑scale LAN/WAN infrastructure in DoD or Federal information systems environments.
- Experience supporting at least two projects in technical areas related to WAN/LAN network design or implementation, with one within the past three years.
- Proficiency in configuration, management, and troubleshooting of COTS 10‑Gigabit Ethernet LAN systems and associated hardware/software.
- Comprehensive understanding of routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP), VLANs, VPNs, and network security practices.
- Experience in deploying and maintaining network infrastructure in DoD or Federal environments.
- Knowledge of DISA STIG, DoD RMF, and network accreditation processes for classified and unclassified systems.
