Job Description

In this role, you will provide technical leadership and execution, supporting HPE’s mission‑critical customers. You will lead pre‑installation configuration, technical strategies and direction, on‑site integration, administration, and external customer enablement within the HPC environment, which includes operating systems, workload managers, high‑speed networks, clustered file systems, and HPC cluster managers. You will collaborate within a team, exercise strong planning and management skills, and ensure smooth execution of projects.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the HPC solution availability, monitoring system health and hygiene of compute, storage, network fabric, and cooling elements.
  • Review, resolve, and respond to client tickets in a timely manner.
  • Gather data, perform analysis, create and elevate HPE technical cases on unresolved issues, and coordinate with higher‑level product SMEs and support groups.
  • Engage and actively manage technical support requests, ensuring timely resolution and case closure within SLA timelines.
  • Diagnose and resolve system hardware, software, and third‑party application issues; document solutions, repairs, and workarounds thoroughly.
  • Answer customer inquiries regarding system software versions, product life cycles, new releases, and third‑party applications.
  • Plan, schedule, and execute monthly patch upgrades and biannual kernel upgrades across all systems.
  • Maintain the system security posture required by the client, ensuring compliance with security standards.
  • Manage system software and firmware revisions, including patches, updates, and OS upgrades.
  • Maintain availability reports to track SLA compliance.
  • Create and maintain site procedures, system diagrams, and configuration or support documentation.
  • Share troubleshooting techniques, new ideas, and utilities to enhance organizational knowledge and expertise.
  • Assist clients with application installations and manage software issues for both system and user applications.
  • Create and maintain effective customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain knowledge of leading‑edge technologies and industry/market domain knowledge.
Required Experience
  • In‑depth Linux operating system (RHEL or SLES) knowledge, workload management systems (e.g., Slurm, PBS Pro), parallel file systems, networking, and security.
  • Hands‑on experience with high‑speed networking (e.g., Infini Band, Omni‑Path).
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to isolate and resolve intricate technical issues.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English, customer‑focused communication, and confidence in communicating with senior management.
  • Ability to maintain system software, utilizing debugging tools for problem isolation; perform software builds, upgrades, and patch installations.
  • Ability to isolate both hardware and software problems and drive solutions through to conclusion.
  • Clear documentation of processes and procedures, focusing on mentoring and knowledge sharing.
Education and Experience Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related area of study, or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years HPC‑related experience, ideally with large‑scale HPC and parallel file system administration and support.
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification required.
  • CompTIA Linux+ Certification required.
