Associate Attorney - Insurance Defense Litigation - Dayton, Ohio

We are a stable, long-standing, profitable, two-shareholder insurance defense firm with offices in Dayton and Cincinnati.

You will gain hands-on experience in premises liability, auto/trucking, construction, fire, subrogation, and coverage cases, assist with depositions, written discovery, motions, mediations, and trials under partner supervision, and receive experienced paralegal and legal secretarial staff support.

• Entry Level (0-2 Years): $85,000 - $95,000 base salary. Training & mentorship. Start January/February 2026.
• Lateral Associate (5+ Years): $120,000 – $160,000 base salary. Immediate file inventory. Start January/February 2026.

• Assist with depositions, written discovery, motions, mediations, and trials under partner supervision.
• Manage a high-volume docket, increasing independence over time.

• 0-2 years Ohio civil or criminal litigation experience (law clerk, internship, or recent graduate).
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Eagerness to learn and manage increasing docket independence over time.
• Ohio bar in good standing (or eligible).
• 5–12 years Ohio civil or criminal litigation experience (lateral).
• Proven deposition, motion practice, and trial experience.
• Ability to manage a high-volume docket independently.
• Ohio bar in good standing.
