CNC Mill Set-Up Operator

Brief Description

• Set up CNC milling machines with the right tooling, fixtures, offsets, and programs.
• Run first‑piece inspections and make on‑the‑fly tweaks to hit tight tolerances.
• Produce high‑quality parts with consistency and confidence.
• Keep your machines humming smoothly through every production run.
• Read blueprints and GD&T like a second language.
• Use precision measuring tools to ensure every part is exactly right.
• Perform in‑process inspections and document your results.
• Diagnose setup or machining issues and adjust parameters to perfection.
• Handle tool changes, lubrication, and routine maintenance.
• Work closely with maintenance or leadership on equipment needs.

• 2–5 years of CNC milling setup & operation experience.
• Ability to read blueprints & GD&T with confidence.
• Comfortable with G‑code and CNC controls (Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, etc.).
• Strong machining knowledge—speeds/feeds, tooling, materials, the works.
• Skilled with precision measurement tools.
• A natural problem‑solver and clear communicator.

• Experience on multi‑axis or vertical/horizontal mills.
• Knowledge of CAD/CAM systems (Edgecam, Esprit, etc.).
• Familiarity with lean/continuous improvement practices.
• Ability to mentor and train CNC associates.
