The Associate Nurse Manager (ANM) - Inpatient Unit serves as an extension of the Nurse Manager (NM) and is accountable for delivering excellent patient care and practicing professional nursing. Premier Health adopts the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) framework for NM competencies. Under the NM's direction, the ANM facilitates the strategic execution of the nursing vision by providing day-to-day supervision of a care team that delivers high-quality nursing care.
The ANM demonstrates nursing leadership with human resource skills and a commitment to diversity, fostering an inclusive and culturally competent environment. In collaboration with the NM, the ANM supports and drives change in the dynamic healthcare environment. Employee engagement, patient experience, and quality outcomes are priorities, with the ANM coaching and mentoring the nursing team. The primary focus is supervising staff and serving as the leadership extension of the NM.
The ANM exhibits nursing leadership through effective human resource management, including staffing and resource allocation, while maintaining productivity standards. Performance improvement activities, such as supporting patient experience with daily nurse leader rounding and executing quality action plans, are integral to this role.

Education : Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; BSN required or must obtain within 5 years of hire. Proof of enrollment required within 6 months of hire.
Licensure / Certification / Registration :
- Current BLS certification.
- Specialty certifications may be required depending on the unit.
- Professional certification preferred.
Experience : Minimum 2 years of hospital-based RN experience; 1 year of informal leadership experience preferred.
