• The palliative care NP will join a growing palliative care team consisting of physicians, social workers, chaplains, and nurses, and will engage in family‑centered rounds with a multidisciplinary team, documenting patient care independently or with the primary team for those on the inpatient service.
• Patient care will be managed via phone, telemedicine, clinic visits, and/or home visits for the outpatient service.
• The NP will conduct history and physical examinations, develop diagnosis orders, perform and interpret diagnostic tests/procedures, and formulate, initiate, and reinforce plans of care and/or treatments for resolution of clinical problems or maintenance of health for outpatients and inpatient admissions.
• Additional responsibilities include staff development, research, consultation, and acting as a consultant to patients, families, and nursing staff while interrelating with all hospital departments and collaborating with the palliative care physician per clinical privileges.
