The Area Supervisor is a member of Store Leadership who oversees a specific store area and performs general operations as Manager on Duty. Responsibilities include opening & closing the store, supervising associates, maintaining merchandise presentation, and ensuring a clean, customer‑friendly environment.
Essential Functions Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments- Prioritize safety and model safe behaviors.
- Maintain high awareness on the sales floor and report unsafe conditions.
- Secure the building, including entrance control, EAS checks, cash office, and armored carrier pick‑ups.
- Ensure clear egress and respond to emergency alarms.
- Report and record any accidents in adherence to company policy.
- Treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect.
- Demonstrate courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism at all times.
- Recognize associate achievements through company programs.
- Represent the Company brand consistently.
- Maintain professional appearance per the dress code and enforce it on team members.
- Ensure store areas are clean, well‑maintained, and merchandised to standard.
- Perform daily trash removal.
- Execute recovery, sizing, and markdowns to company standards.
- Oversee receipt of merchandise trucks and inbound non‑merchandise deliveries.
- Keep stockrooms clean, organized, and secure.
- Place merchandise on the sales floor promptly after processing.
- Comply with monthly presentation guidelines and execute floor moves and signage.
- Implement the Loss Prevention Awareness Program on the floor.
- Safeguard confidential, cash, and merchandise information.
- Maintain and inspect the Public View Monitor system.
- Conduct package inspections and enforce company best practices.
- Train and coach associates on cash registers and front‑end procedures.
- Maintain pace, energy, and presence to expedite customer wait times.
- Manage break schedules, equipment, supplies, and ensure quality service.
- Teach and enforce the “Scan and Bag” best practice.
- Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of fitting rooms.
- Audit fitting room tags and enforce security tagging and go‑back procedures.
- Process cash pulls and bank deposits per company policy.
- Handle front‑end controls, refunds, and teller security.
- Administer payroll functions including punch edits and Sunday payroll.
- Assume additional tasks as directed by the Store Manager.

- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with point‑of‑sale equipment and applications.
- Basic mathematical calculations for retail.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends.
- Use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
- Stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of working time.
- Regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Occasionally push, pull, and lift >25 lbs.
- Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other supplies.
- Stockroom shifts may require lifting >20 lbs.
- Manage Retail Associates.
- Lead Stockroom Associates where applicable.
