Public Safety Officer/Armed - Full Time - 3rd Shift

To provide maximum security possible for the hospital during normal day-to-day operations, as well as during emergency situations. The armed security officer enforces hospital security rules and regulations uniformly among patients, visitors, and hospital employees. This enforcement is conducted in a low‑key, professional manner consistent with the hospital’s mission and values of providing health care to the children of the community.

The officer is responsible for complying with an effective hospital‑wide surveillance, prevention, and control of infection program, as well as a safety management program designed to provide a physical environment free of hazards and to reduce the risk of human injury. The position collaborates interdepartmentally with all divisions of the hospital, provides patient transport, maintains a valid driver’s license, and is insured by the hospital’s insurance carrier.

Must be able to lift 70 lbs. Must work to achieve OPOTA within 12 months of hire.
