Construction Mason, Operator, & Tender at Ferguson Construction. Dayton, OH. Full-time position.

Join Ferguson Construction Company as a Mason Operator & Tender. You will lay brick, block, and stone veneers, work with a dedicated team, operate rough terrain forklifts to move masonry materials, and support masons by transferring materials. There are opportunities for growth as you gain experience.

• Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand job expectations.
• Maintain tools and keep the job site clean.
• Assist in maintaining, repairing, and constructing masonry surfaces and structures.
• Layout walls and lay leads; install masonry flashings and insulation.
• Tuck and point masonry; build and maintain scaffolding and other temporary structures.
• Clean work areas and apply sealants.
• Demonstrate proper use and care of hand tools and PPE.
• Set up for walls; space mortar boards; read a tape to measure cuts.
• Operate a forklift as needed; assemble and tool joints; perform simple masonry tasks.
• Assist tradesmen and prepare tasks for execution; erect scaffolding safely.

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or GED; or six months related experience/training if no diploma.
• Basic math skills; ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals; OSHA 10-hour training;
  Rough terrain forklift certification;
  Aerial lift certification.
• Strong safety focus, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to travel to job locations; ability to work in other trades as needed.
• Physical ability to perform job duties and lift/move materials; ability to work overtime and Saturdays as needed.
