General Duties And Responsibilities- Install low voltage copper and fiber optic cabling.
- Terminate, test copper and fiber cabling systems using certified test equipment.
- Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Repair and install network-enabled systems such as CCTV, Access Control, AV Control Systems, Central Sound, Video Management Servers, Projectors, Screens, Interactive Displays, etc.
- Assist in keeping building common and technology spaces neat, orderly, and safe.
- Accomplish work in accordance with blueprints and specifications, national and local codes, and industry standards such as TIA and BICSI.
- Update as-built drawings as necessary, according to department policies.
- Attend toolbox safety meetings and demonstrate safety competency in addition to any other recommended topics such as harassment prevention, ethics, etc.
- Obtain an OSHA 10 General Industry Safety and Health standards certification.
- Extended hours or weekend overtime may be available.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Knowledge of the Low Voltage Integration or ICT industry.
- BICSI and/or AVIXA certification desirable but not required.
- Valid driver’s license.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English and collaborate with multiple levels of customers and employees.
Physical RequirementsThe employee is regularly required to walk; use fingers, hands, arms, and reach; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, taste, or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, climb vertical ladders, work at heights, and use common hand and power tools. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WorkEnvironment
The employee may regularly work outdoors, be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical and electrical parts, high precarious places, dust, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extended exposure to sunlight, cold and heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
