Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Drain Cleaner to join our service team. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the efficient operation of drainage systems by cleaning, repairing, and maintaining sewer lines and drains. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect drainage systems using various tools and equipment.
- Diagnose issues related to blockages, leaks, or other malfunctions in the drainage system.
- Clean drains and sewer lines using mechanical, chemical, or water jetting methods.
- Perform regular maintenance to prevent future blockages and ensure optimal system performance.
- Repair or replace damaged sections of pipes and drainage systems.
- Ensure all repairs are completed in compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Operate and maintain drain cleaning equipment, including augers, plungers, high-pressure water jets, and inspection cameras.
- Ensure all equipment is used safely and is properly maintained.
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain issues, repairs, and preventive measures.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer concerns and answering questions.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including services provided and materials used.
- Report any issues or additional service requirements to supervisors.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding drainage systems and waste disposal.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a drain cleaner or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of plumbing and drainage systems.
- Ability to operate and maintain specialized equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good physical condition and stamina.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Certification or training in plumbing or a related field.
- Experience with advanced drain cleaning techniques and equipment.
- Basic knowledge of building codes and regulations.
- Work may be performed in various settings, including residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
- May involve working in confined spaces and exposure to unpleasant odors and dirty environments.
- Requires physical strength and flexibility to handle equipment and perform manual labor.
