School Bus Driver

Northeastern Local School District (NELSD) is a public school district in the northeastern portion of Clark County, Ohio, serving approximately 3,000 students in grades PK–12. The district operates two PK–12 campuses, Kenton Ridge and Northeastern, providing comprehensive educational programs and services. The School Bus Driver role is a full-time, on-site position located in the Dayton Metropolitan Area, serving Northeastern Local School District campuses. The School Bus Driver provides safe, reliable transportation for students to and from school, field trips, and other school-related activities while following assigned routes and schedules.

Daily responsibilities include conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, checking the bus for students after every trip, maintaining a clean and orderly bus, and following traffic laws and district transportation policies. The driver monitors student behavior, promotes a respectful environment, and follows established loading, unloading, and emergency procedures. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, promptly reporting mechanical or safety concerns, communicating professionally with students, families, and district staff, and participating in required training.
