Overview

Marketing and Strategic Communications Professor at Bryan College. The professor will teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in marketing, social media strategy, graphic design, public relations, strategic communication, and related fields. The professor will equip students with both practical skills and a biblical worldview foundation for careers in digital marketing, creative media, and communications.

Reports to:

Vice President of Academics.

Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in marketing, social media, digital communication, graphic design, and related fields.
  • Develop and update syllabi, course content, and assessments that integrate industry standards with a biblical worldview.
  • Incorporate active learning strategies and technology into classroom instruction.
  • Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
  • Contribute to program growth by developing new courses and concentrations in marketing, social media, and design.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum relevance to industry trends and Christian mission.
  • Integrate certifications and practical learning experiences into courses when appropriate.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, academic committees, and faculty governance.
  • Contribute to student recruitment and retention by engaging in college events, open houses, and marketing initiatives.
  • Mentor students in internships, portfolio development, and professional networking.
  • Stay current with marketing, design, and communication industry trends.
  • Pursue professional development and scholarship in related fields.
  • Assist with promoting Bryan College programs through social media and creative projects when appropriate.
  • Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be committed to serving Him and His church.
  • Endorse without reservation our mission and standards of conduct.
Education
  • Master’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Graphic Design, or related field required; terminal degree (Ph.D., DBA, MFA, or equivalent) preferred.
Experience
  • Professional experience in marketing, digital media, social media management, or design strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in relevant design and media tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, social media platforms, analytics tools).
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate a biblical worldview with academic content.
  • Teaching experience at the college level strongly preferred.
