Job Summary

This position is responsible for safely providing predictive, preventative, and emergency mechanical and electrical maintenance services for production and infrastructure systems as necessary to maintain process efficiency for La-Z-Boy operations and facilities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform routine scheduled, preventive, and emergency maintenance on plant electrical and mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Install, repair, adjust, and test equipment and components to ensure that systems function properly.
  • Inspect or examine equipment, structures, materials, or components to identify causes of errors or defects.
  • Effectively use a computer to manage work orders, document work, and requisition parts and materials to accomplish required maintenance efficiently and organized.
  • Communicate and cooperate with machine operators; operate equipment to detect equipment problems, analyze malfunctions, and verify system problems.
  • Determine correct types of equipment, tools, or materials needed to complete tasks.
  • Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test equipment or software and applying knowledge of the functional operation of electronic units and systems.
  • Work effectively as a team member and coordinate activities with others as needed.
  • Level three multi‑craft will be expected to complete above responsibilities with minimal supervision or assistance, using mechanical, electrical equipment, techniques, and test equipment for advanced troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Follow health and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean workplace following 5S standards.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the above duties. Associates Degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology, Mechatronics, Electrical and Instrumentation, Electro‑Mechanical, Automated Manufacturing Technology, or Electrical Engineering Technology preferred.
  • Must be knowledgeable, adhere to, and enforce stated safety policies and procedures, incorporating and maintaining safe behavior into all activities and consistently complying with all established safety and health policies.
  • Five or more years of experience, demonstrating mastery of skills including:
  • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and document simple and complex machine malfunctions to mechanical and electrical components, devices, and/or systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents including diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, schematics, or ladder logic diagrams.
  • Ability to perform necessary welding, fabrication, and machine shop tasks incidental to maintenance and repair needs.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Weekly Hours

40 hours per week (AM Shift)
