Base Pay Range

$16.00/hr - $18.00/hr

Responsibilities
  • Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
  • Register sales on assigned cash register, provide customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
  • Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in pharmacy practice; use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
  • Share customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive customer experience, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
  • Recommend items for sale to customers and trade‑up or companion items.
  • Process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds and exchanges; collect cash and distribute change; take customers to OTC aisle when possible.
  • Keep counters and shelves clean and merchandised; take inventory and maintain records; check in and price merchandise as required.
  • Perform duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist and Store Manager, including entering patient and drug information, verifying medication, checking for interactions, and filling prescriptions.
  • Report prescription errors immediately to pharmacist and adhere to company policies, the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct, and the Quality Improvement Program.
  • Adhere to Good Faith Dispensing policy during prescription dispensing activities.
  • Handle telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention, including calls to physicians.
  • Process manual claims for third‑party program prescriptions; perform clerical duties as assigned.
  • Assist Pharmacy Department with inventory management activities: ordering, unpacking, checking and storing shipments; maintain knowledge of asset protection; file claims for overages, shortages, order errors or damaged goods involving Rx drugs.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
  • Construct and maintain displays (promotional, seasonal, super structures, sale merchandise); complete resets and revisions as directed.
  • Assist with separation of food items and product placement; perform stock rotation using first‑in‑first‑out method.
  • Use store systems and equipment.
  • Provide customer service in the photo area, digital passport photo service, poster print and creative machine, and suggest promotional photo products.
  • Assume web pick‑up responsibilities: monitor orders in Picture Care Plus, pick items, deliver orders to customers as they arrive.
  • Assist with exterior and interior maintenance, ensuring clean, neat, orderly store condition and appearance.
  • Maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
  • Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
Training & Personal Development
  • Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state required certification/registration.
  • Attend training and complete PPLs requested by Manager or assigned by corporate; acquire continuing education credits; maintain knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy.
Basic Qualifications
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (Except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Prefer good math skills for prescription accuracy (counting, measuring, weighing).
  • Prefer good computer skills.
  • Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
  • Prefer PTCB certification.
