Position Summary

The facility is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible General Cardiologist to join a collaborative outpatient cardiology team.

This full-time, permanent opportunity offers a collegial environment emphasizing patient-centered care, preventive cardiology, and multidisciplinary teamwork. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive cardiovascular care while contributing to clinical excellence, innovation, and quality improvement initiatives.

Essential Position Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive consultation, diagnosis, and long-term management of patients with cardiovascular conditions in an outpatient setting.
  • Counsel patients on lifestyle modification, risk factor reduction, and preventive cardiology strategies.
  • Interpret non-invasive diagnostic studies including ECGs, Holter/Event monitors, echocardiograms, and stress testing.
  • Coordinate appropriate diagnostic testing and follow-up care.
  • Collaborate with primary care physicians, specialists, and other team members to ensure integrated, patient-centered care.
  • Provide clinical oversight, mentorship, and support to nurse practitioners and physician assistants within the cardiology department.
  • Facilitate care coordination, referrals, and smooth transitions of care across the continuum.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and prognosis.
  • Document all encounters, treatment plans, and communications in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives aligned with the organization’s mission and performance goals.
  • Maintain board certification and engage in ongoing professional education to remain current with advancements in cardiology.
Qualifications
  • Education: MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure & Certification: Board Certified/Board Eligible in Cardiology; eligible for state medical licensure.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical practice preferred; new graduates and fellows are welcome to apply.

    Competencies:

    • Strong clinical, diagnostic, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based, multidisciplinary environment.
    • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR);
      Epic experience preferred.
    • Comfort overseeing and supporting advanced practice providers (PAs/ARNPs).
    • Commitment to value-based, patient-focused care delivery.
