Radiologic Technologist

Join to apply for the Radiologic Technologist role at The Orthopedic Clinic

We are leaders in the orthopedic community of East Central Florida, serving our patients since 1961 and expanding with the opening of the The Orthopedic Clinic Surgery Center in 2015. We aim to get patients back to the life they love with high-quality, individualized orthopedic care.

Description

The Radiologic Technologist will ensure quality x‑rays, operate x‑ray equipment, position patients, perform diagnostic radiographs, and observe safety and security protocols. This role requires experience with hands‑on patient care in an outpatient setting, knowledge of anatomy, physiology, body mechanics, patient movement, and positioning for exams.

Responsibilities
  • Apply radiology knowledge to relieve patient anxieties; provide explanations of treatment and answer questions.
  • Use critical thinking skills to position patients, including turning and lifting patients with restricted mobility.
  • Minimize radiation doses by practicing ALARA principles, using beam‑restrictive devices, patient shielding, and awareness of exposure factors.
  • Verify physician orders for procedures and diagnoses, ensuring all supporting documentation matches and selecting correct ICD‑10 codes for x‑ray orders.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Communicate closely with physicians to ensure precise patient positioning and anatomy, resulting in proper views for diagnosis.
  • Clean imaging rooms in preparation for the next patient.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Radiology from an accredited program.
  • Valid ARRT certification.
  • Licensed in the State of Florida as a Registered Radiologic Technologist.
  • Previous customer service experience, preferably in a medical/healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, EPM and EHR software applications (preferably Athena).
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and proof of auto insurance.
Benefits
  • Paid holidays and weekends off.
  • Two weeks paid vacation.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • Robust 401(k) plan with profit sharing.
  • 24/7 Employee Assistance program.
  • License/CE reimbursement.
  • Supportive colleagues and leadership team.
