We are seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant with previous medical assisting experience to join our dynamic team. The Medical Assistant will work directly under the supervision of a Pain Management physician and is accountable for creating an exceptional patient experience while ensuring accurate, efficient, and effective clinical operational practices.
Responsibilities include application and removal of casts, complex casting, orthopedic splints, and devices. This position involves significant patient contact and team assessment of patient needs, requiring exemplary customer service skills, problem solving, organizational skills, and strong attention to detail.
- Triage patients
- Take vital signs
- Cast/splint patients, complete dressing changes, remove sutures/staples, apply DME
- Observe and report patients’ signs and symptoms
- Collect and prepare all necessary notes, diagnostic test results/images for the physician’s clinic to insure smooth operations
- Assist with patient examinations and procedures
- Enter accurate, detailed HPI in the electronic health record
- Assist in stocking and ordering of supplies as well as maintenance of equipment
- Certified / Registered Medical Assistant, EMT or higher certification or license within the State of Florida
- Two years of medical experience in a Pain Management clinical setting
- Prior orthopedic experience a plus
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, EHR software applications, preferably Athena
- Valid Driver’s License / Clean Driving Record / Proof of auto insurance
