Systems Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Systems Engineer to join our team on a long-term contract. The role involves designing and managing VMware environments, handling system migrations, ensuring optimal network performance, and providing reliable solutions in a highly virtualized setting.

• Design, implement, and manage VMware infrastructures, including vSphere and vCenter.
• Plan and execute migrations from Hyper‑V to VMware environments.
• Configure and troubleshoot networking components within vCenter, including switches, VLANs, and trunk ports.
• Optimize system and server performance while ensuring secure connectivity across firewalls.
• Decommission outdated systems and integrate storage solutions using Fiber Channel technologies.
• Collaborate on system architecture projects to support a large‑scale user environment.
• Maintain and monitor Microsoft Windows Servers and Active Directory systems.
• Utilize monitoring tools like Zabbix to track system health and performance.
• Work with Cisco networking equipment and Meraki access points to ensure seamless network operations.
• Provide technical support for Microsoft 365, including account creation and basic administrative tasks.

• Extensive experience with VMware technologies, including vSphere and vCenter.
• Proven ability to migrate workloads from Hyper‑V to VMware environments.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including VLANs, trunk ports, and firewall configurations.
• Familiarity with Cisco routers, switches, and Meraki access points.
• Proficiency in managing Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory environments.
• Hands‑on experience with monitoring tools such as Zabbix.
• Relevant IT certifications such as VMware, Microsoft, Cisco, or Security+.
• Basic knowledge of Linux systems is preferred but not required.
