The LPGA is seeking a detail oriented, proactive, and team driven Tournament Volunteer Coordinator to support the planning, coordination, and on site execution of LPGA Tour owned events. This position plays a key role in delivering world class tournaments by ensuring excellence across all facets of the volunteer program.
The Tournament Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for leading volunteer programs involving 500 plus individuals, which are critical to the success of LPGA Tour events. This role oversees volunteer recruitment, training, scheduling, and engagement to ensure that every volunteer is prepared to deliver a high quality experience for players, fans, and partners. Working closely with the tournament team, host venues, and community partners, the Coordinator fosters strong relationships and upholds LPGA standards of professionalism and hospitality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Manage volunteer programs for the Ford Championship presented by Wild Horse Pass in Phoenix, AZ and the FM Championship in Boston, MA
- Oversee the volunteer registration system, ensuring smooth onboarding and accurate tracking
- Build and maintain strong relationships with volunteer chairpersons
- Lead volunteer recruiting, training, scheduling, and retention efforts to support tournament operations
- Coordinate volunteer uniforms including ordering, inventory, and on site distribution
- Assist in developing and presenting volunteer training materials
- Serve as the primary point of communication with volunteers before, during, and after tournaments
- Coordinate and manage on site food and beverage for the volunteer program
- Implement post event volunteer surveys and prepare after action reports with recommendations
- Collaborate with the tournament operations team to ensure volunteer support across all event areas
- Represent the tournament at local community events to support engagement and outreach
- The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Event Management, Business, or a related field. Candidates should have one to three years of experience in event or sports operations, with golf experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required. The role also requires the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with event setup as needed.
- The position requires travel of approximately ten to twelve weeks per year, including weekends and holidays, during the LPGA Tour season.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
