Low Voltage Cable Technician

Overview

MCS is hiring for Low Voltage Cable Technicians in VOLUSIA County, FL
. This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits. Career tracks include Apprentice Level/Helper (some construction experience), Technician Level/Experienced, and LEAD Technician.

• Install devices such as card readers, door contacts, motion Rex, intercoms, motion detectors, glass breaks, speakers, nurse call lights, push buttons, and patient stations.
• Install and terminate all low voltage cabling.
• Terminate, test, and label end-user devices; participate in communications room build-out.
• Utilize industry standards and company-approved installation methods and techniques.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable AHJ codes and industry standards.
• Adhere to plans, specs, and wiring diagrams.
• Maintain open communication with direct supervisor to ensure work quality, performance, and materials meet schedules and expectations.
• Follow and maintain proper safety practices.

Educational Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent

Certification Requirements: Ability to obtain a Florida State JLA (Jessica Lunsford Act) Badge

Experience Requirements:

• 2+ years in a technical role
• 2+ years in the commercial building construction industry related to:
  Structured Cabling, Security, Access Control, CCTV, A/V, Paging, Nurse Call, Sound Masking
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must have own hand tools
• Must be willing to travel up to 50%
• Must be able to stand, kneel and crouch for long periods
• Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding
• Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds
• Must be able to work in high places and in confined spaces
• Work sites vary from finished interiors to new construction; dress appropriately for the environment
• Work hours may vary by project; some jobs may require weekend shifts
