Compensation & BenefitsExpected salary range: $146,700 to $163,000, depending on experience. Primary Purpose of PositionThe Principal Structuring Analyst plays an integral role within the Portfolio Management and Strategy group. The analyst is responsible for pricing and valuation of structured gas transactions – including physical index, basis and fixed‑price products, as well as storage and transport‑related asset valuation. The analyst leads structuring and participation in load auctions for load‑distribution companies (LDCs), government aggregation contracts, RFP responses, and supports deal valuation and campaign pricing across SMB and residential customers.
PrimaryDuties and Accountabilities
- Accurately and timely value natural gas transactions, including physical index, basis, and fixed‑price products for all service levels.
- Value and structure asset‑release transactions involving storage and transport assets.
- Value load auctions, government aggregations, SMB and residential programs.
- Collaborate daily with Sales and Trading teams to ensure favorable risk/reward structures.
- Apply commercial and analytical expertise to support deal valuation and booking assumptions.
- Drive system and process improvements to increase efficiencies, working with business and IT teams.
- Communicate recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, economics, mathematics, science or equivalent experience.
- Eight years of experience in the energy industry.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and valuation skills for pricing complex products.
- Ability to prioritize, communicate and perform under time constraints with a variety of stakeholders.
- Master’s degree or MBA in finance, economics, energy or related field.
- Experience trading physical basis and index products for natural gas.
- Energy risk and transaction booking experience.
