Position Details

Operate a sheet fed press at the highest efficiency possible while following standard operating procedures and work instructions to produce a high-quality product.

Shift: 4:00PM - 4:00AM; 3 days on, 4 days off (NO SWING)

Pay: starting at $26.20 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Responsible to follow all safety procedures as required by the role, and to nurture a food safety culture by adhering to all Safe Quality Foods requirement
  • Responsible to work together with the Sheet Fed Assistant Press Operator and Sheet Fed Press Feeder Operator
  • Responsible to work with other departments including the sheeters and die cutters
  • Set and adjust press machine controls
  • Monitor press while in operation and perform machine changeover tasks
  • Maintain quality, productivity and waste according to set standards
  • Responsible for complying with and following all standard operating procedures and work instructions
  • Perform all job tasks utilizing required personal protective equipment and correct safety procedures
  • Keep work area and machine organized and clean
  • May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires experience setting up and operating a multicolor printing press. One (1) or more years’ experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow simple written and oral instructions.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to speak the English language fluently.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, decimals and fractions.
  • Ability to give, receive and analyze information.
  • Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school.
  • Ability to meet or exceed deadlines. May be required to work some overtime and/or work flexible hours.
  • Requires nearly constant concentration and attention to detail.
  • Ability to: stand and walk for 90% of work time; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl for 10% of work time.
  • Ability to: see clearly at 20 inches or less; see clearly at 20 feet or more; identify and distinguish colors; observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point; judge distance and spatial relationships; and to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
  • Ability to: use hands for 100% of work time; reach above shoulders for 50% of work time; and use feet to operate machines for 30% of work time.
  • Ability to lift: 10 pounds or less 25% of work time; 25 pounds or less 30% of work time; 50 pounds or less 25% of work time; and may lift 100 pounds or less 5% of work time. (Example: lifting roll of material on and off the press approximately 6 ft.)
  • May be required to use sense of smell.

  • Work with a variety of chemicals including UV inks and coatings
