Overview
Hoist Operator 3/Forklift Driver (8
Hr Days) with responsibilities spanning operating forklift equipment, inventory control, and safety compliance in a climate-controlled environment. The role supports material movement, staging, and shipping in warehouse, storage yard, or factory settings.
- Operate equipment to move finished product for shipping or storage
- Supply Manufacturing Department with materials as needed
- Stage product to be moved or shipped
- Rack unused supplies and maintain an inventory of type, amount and location of items
- Transport and process manufacturing paper by-products
- Empty trash hoppers and perform other housekeeping duties as needed
- Perform routine daily inspections on hoist and report maintenance needs
- May include battery service duties such as inspecting, recharging and replacing batteries of electrical leads and battery poles and lubricating truck's moving parts
- May include changing LP/Propane
- Adhere to and promote all safety policies and procedures including handling of hazardous waste, lock out-tag out rules and hearing and eye protection policies
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned
- Responsible for training and supporting new and existing team members
- Must know how high, wide, and long the fork lift truck and its load are, and how much the forklift can lift
- Ability to identify doorway and aisle dimensions to drive the forklift and its load; determine shelf or bin clearance and load height
- Knowledge of the storage area layout to place items without detailed instructions
- Skilled in maneuvering forklifts in tight spaces
- Greater knowledge and skill than Hoist Operator 1 in handling controls for driving fork lift and/or clamp trucks
- Proficient in starting, stopping, backing, and driving forklifts through narrow aisles, ramps, and loading/unloading in various environments
- Ability to recognize load lift capability and balance
- Other duties as assigned
Climate controlled environment
The pay range for this role at the noted location is $16.50- $20.91/hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, the total compensation package may include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
