Android Developer

Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Android Developer to take ownership of customer-facing mobile applications within a small, collaborative team environment. This role focuses on building and modernizing apps that integrate with hardware devices in the field, ensuring seamless connectivity between deployed equipment and backend systems. The ideal candidate is versatile, self-motivated, and eager to work in a setting where every contribution has a direct and visible impact.

• Independently design, build, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin/Java and modern Android frameworks (Jetpack Compose, Lifecycle, Navigation, Room).
• Develop and support networking layers for REST/JSON APIs, background jobs, and efficient data/image transfer.
• Collaborate closely with a lean internal team to define requirements, plan releases, and resolve issues quickly.
• Maintain and enhance existing applications while introducing modern design patterns and best practices.
• Ensure quality and reliability through testing (unit, integration, UI), code reviews, and performance monitoring.
• Manage end-to-end delivery to the Google Play Store, including signing, release processes, and version management.

• 5+ years of professional Android development experience using Kotlin/Java.
• Proven success building and publishing Android applications in the Play Store.
• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, Jetpack libraries, Coroutines/Flows, and Room/SQLite.
• Experience with networking and secure authentication methods.
• Ability to work independently and drive projects from start to finish with minimal oversight.
• Bonus: exposure to IoT devices, cloud services, telemetry systems, or imaging workflows.
