We are seeking an experienced Electrical QCx Engineer to join our team. This position plays a key role in supporting and executing Quality Commissioning (QCx) activities through Levels 1–3 of the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will ensure that all electrical systems are installed, tested, and documented in accordance with project design, safety standards, and client specifications. This role requires a strong technical background in electrical systems, commissioning procedures, and multidisciplinary coordination within mission‑critical environments.
Responsibilities- Participate in and support the QCx process through Levels 1–3 of commissioning.
- Assist with vendor coordination and management, ensuring alignment between design, construction, and commissioning teams.
- Review and support design specifications, manufacturer submittals, one‑line drawings, and related project documentation.
- Confirm that electrical equipment and systems are installed according to project design specifications, local codes, and national standards.
- Review test documentation for delivered and installed equipment to verify operational readiness and compliance with design intent.
- Track and report commissioning progress for assigned equipment and systems, maintaining complete and accurate documentation.
- Support commissioning procedures and testing on electrical systems.
- Verify system performance against design criteria and operational requirements.
- Support vendors and trade partners during Functional Performance Testing (FPT) of systems and components.
- Record test results, deviations, and troubleshooting steps; develop and maintain comprehensive commissioning documentation including test reports, punch lists, and turnover packages.
- Identify electrical or control system issues during startup and testing, providing root‑cause analysis and recommending corrective actions.
- Record and track non‑conformance items and punch list issues, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.
- Ensure all electrical systems comply with regulatory standards such as OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and ASHRAE.
- Verify that systems are installed and commissioned in compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
- Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring all activities align with the project’s EHS Plan and by preventing equipment energization prior to documented safety clearance.
- Coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, project managers, contractors, and vendors to ensure clear communication and successful project outcomes.
- Maintain a general understanding of LEED requirements and their application to electrical system performance and sustainability goals.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in electrical commissioning, quality control, or systems engineering.
- Strong understanding of electrical commissioning workflows and documentation requirements.
- Familiarity with power distribution systems, UPS/backup systems, and control panels.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams and priorities.
- Proficient with commissioning and project management tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, or similar).
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and interpret technical drawings and schematic.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (preferred).
