SOODE, KS is seeking a Quality Control Engineer to administer and coordinate quality control functions in a fast-paced, start-up manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS), customer requirements, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of identifying and resolving quality-related issues efficiently. This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities- Maintain and improve Quality Management System (QMS) documentation, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
- Collaborate closely with customer quality departments, providing timely and accurate data, reports, and feedback.
- Assist in customer and regulatory audits, working alongside the Quality Manager.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures, identifying process improvements and standardization opportunities.
- Investigate and determine root causes of quality issues; support corrective actions and preventive measures.
- Monitor Engineering Change Orders (ECO), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and Material Review Board (MRB) closure timelines, ensuring timely resolution.
- Establish and enforce best practices in documentation, training, and compliance monitoring.
- Support the implementation of paperless manufacturing and risk-based quality methodologies.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and implement action plans accordingly.
- Provide periodic reports and insights on quality performance metrics.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Location:
Overland Park, KS
Salary: $45,000.00-$55,000.00
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) discipline
- 1+ years of experience using QC Seven Tools or Lean Six Sigma methodologies
- 2+ years of experience in inspection work
- Strong ability to identify and resolve material defects effectively
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and regulatory requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to thrive in multi-national environments and communicate across diverse teams
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and adaptability in a start-up environment
- Travel:
Occasional domestic travel with up to 1 international trip per year.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
